Useful Web sties

These are great web sites to help with a variety of issues.

  • The couples connection is a free web site that offers couples and parents great exercises and tools they can use to learn more adaptive communication skills, learn more about one another, and practice new skills.  There are downloadable “plans” that you can choose.
  • Parentsteachingparents.com is a free website that offers parents the 3 step process to addressing a wide array of problematic behavior in the home.  Parents can choose from lots of vignettes and learn to apply the 3 step proccess to thier unique situations.
  • The Mental Health Association of Westchester is a free web site that has valuable information on mental heath conditions and explanations of treatment options offered.  It also connects you with MHA’s across the country.

Useful Tools

These are great tools used to help communicate better with your spouse, child, or anyone.

  • I Statement - Helps to communicate what your feeling related to someone else’s behavior. It is frequently used in an attempt to be assertive without putting the listener on the defensive.
  • Life Space Interview - This is a great way to address problematic behaviors with your children - it helps you to teach new behaviors instead of contributing to or maintaining the problematic behaviors.
  • Activity Log - This is a great tool to help keep track of your activities, vices, and exercise for the week.  You can’t change until you know what your doing.
  • “Depression - Signs, Symptoms, Treatment” - This article has very useful information if you have concerns about yourself or someone else who may be struggeling with Depression.
  • “Anxiety - Signs, Symptoms, Treatment” - This article has very useful information if you have concerns about yourself or someone else who may be struggeling with Anxiety.
