As part of the series “Creating Home”, this segment targets the parents role in creating a therapeutic home that fosters growth and development.

”Creating Home” is available to parents dealing with their children’s difficult behaviors.  Head In The Right Direction brings the most comprehensive and up to date material used by residential and foster care agencies all over the world and makes it easily available to families in the home.

Written as a practical guide for parents, this booklet offers parents healthier ways to manage problematic behaviors in the home.  This material has only been available in training sessions in foster care agencies globally, but now it has been made available to families here.

In “Setting Up”, the first booklet in the “Creating Home” series, you learned how to identify your family values and create rules and routines that reflect your values.  Naturally, now that you have “set up” the home, your children will be testing you.  By using the skills and knowledge learned in this segment, you will be prepared to address those situations in healthy and productive ways that teach your child healthy ways to resolve conflicts rather than abuse.
