Hi, I’m Leslie Hunt, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern currently completing my M.S.Ed. at CUNY Lehman College (expected graduation: September 2026). I work with individuals, couples, and families to process trauma, restore connection, and build resilience.

My goal is to help clients who have experienced life-altering events—whether loss, moral injury, or systemic injustice—reconnect with themselves, their relationships, and their sense of purpose. My approach is person-centered and draws from multiple counseling modalities, allowing me to meet clients exactly where they are. I practice from an LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-racist perspective and strive to create a compassionate, inclusive space where people can reflect, heal, and grow.

My work is deeply informed by my own life experience. I’m a cancer survivor and a carrier of a rare inherited cancer gene that has affected generations of my family. This personal journey has given me unique insight into how grief, survivorship, identity, and uncertainty impact both the mind and body. I also row with a team of fellow cancer survivors, where I find strength and solidarity through community and movement.

I’m completing my clinical training under the supervision of Emily Katt, LCSW. Before pursuing counseling, I earned an MBA from Baruch College (CUNY) and a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan.
